I think the point lost in this reply is that even if ASND may have a faster product, the buying decisions are not always made based on the highest speed but other factors like rapport with the vendor and how they are perceived by the buyer.
With routers, it is not a go/no-go situation as projected, with a slower router, the mean response time for packets will increase at higher loads but in many cases the customer may be willing to put up with a degraded response because they feel comfortable buying from a vendor whom they know well.
As another example, Digital has the fastest Alpha microprocessor that beats any other vendor's SPECs shipping today, however, DEC has not been able to capture as much market share as their performance would indicate because many other factors than performance affect buying decisions.
