Here is one excerpt from the article in Investor's Digest:

"Recently, BII announced it had received a U.S. patent on its complex, declining price "Dutch" auction technology. "Although perhaps not yet widely understood," said president Jeff Lymburner, "the patent represents a government issued legal monopoly over a process that has sweeping global applicability. It is a tremendous coup for Bid.com".
