Diogeron,

What does this have to do with ERICY, or did I miss something?

Let me take a stab at your question and the previous post. The URL is to another SI thread for Microvision (MVIS) which holds patent rights to VRD developed at the UofW.

exchange2000.com

The tie-in to Ericsson is related to SPECULATION that Ericsson could develop an alliance with MVIS and production using VRD in cellular phones. VRD is Virtual Retinal Display which, very basically, projects images directly to the retina eliminating the need for any screen such as LED.

Why Ericsson? Ericsson-Saab Avionics, a jointly held company by our ERICY and Saab (the same as in autos) contracted with MVIS for a prototype, for use in pilot training, I believe. Initial impressions were favorable. MVIS has publicly stated they expect to have VRD in cell phones and on the market before 2001. No manufacturer has been named therefore the speculation about ERICY.

The practical use MVIS claims will be to connect to the internet from your cell phone and be able to see your computer screen as if you were home sitting in front of your monitor.

There's a lot more to it but I'm not here to hype another company.

BTW, I happen to be long on both ERICY and MVIS and have owned both well before the connection with Ericsson-Saab was announced.
