Least we forget that it's really the GOLD that controls the XAU. Look beyond this week, and onto next. Past performance is not indicative of futures returns. When next you look at the FUNDS'-a-metals, remember that they are not simple linears:
X goes to Y goes to Z but the reverse may not be true.
So in saying that, is the XAU/Gold ratio back to norm?

Hmmm it appears the XAU can climb a little higher, without gold climbing, and still be within the ratio's downtrend.

I vote we place TOM on probation for 4 weeks.... <vbg>
