nuke,
<you never answered me. How do you give credence to the Serbian claims
of mass civilian casualties caused by a few NATO bombs and their assertions that
tens of thousands of NATO bombs have had little or no effect on their military,
the intended targets?>

I don't believe I have given credence to any Serbian claims of that nature. The Serbian reports that I have seen claim about 500 Serbian casualties(both Muslim and Christian). The military damage is apparently most effective when destroying oil refineries, bridges, etc. This is according to NATO approved reports also.
It is debatable who will suffer more from that type of damage, the military or the civilians, once this fiasco is stopped.

As a self proclaimed aetheist, you might find this proverb, written by a general and ruler of Israel during its "glory" years, apprpriate to the present situation that NATO finds itself in. Tho you hold no fear or belief in God, the wisdom of the Proverbs of Solomon are in and of themselves, worth taking note of.

Pr 17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

To paraphrase....
It's hard to stop pissing once you've started.
