Just a couple of comments and observations on good old Ampex and what's been happening of late. I do believe that there is impending news, beyond what already been publicly announced, that has driven the price up since last Monday. Remember, in effect, most of this weeks gain took place on Monday and Tuesday - before some of the most recent PR releases. The announcements earlier in the week, while certainly good news, were not good enough to justify the sudden price increases and the volume. No, I think there is more coming down the road.
I tend to agree that the favorite horse at the gate is the IPO of TvontheWeb - after Ampex establishes a majority position. Well, I think that will happen eventually, but not next week at the NAB. I think the NAB will be used to showcase the "darling daughter" who will be all dressed up in her finest apparel and positioned to display her most alluring attributes. The idea, of course, is to attract attention and get the hormones going. After the show, perhaps a week or two later, when the memory of the attractive (and here-to-fore unknown) lass is still fresh in the minds of all the young technocrats - that is the time to let the young lady out of the house.
