I am not trying to pick a personal fight against you. However, the history is here to show that you have "boasted all the time". It is not once not twice, but many many times. What did yu do when you are proving wrong? You shifted you focus on other people having a personal attacks route. That is very lamb in my view.
If we could keep the focus entirely on the companies and avoid comments like "you boast all the time" wouldn't that be fine? I'm not building a cult of personality here - you are the one who keeps shifting the focus on me instead of issues.
If this post does not showing one example of boasting, what else? This is just one example. History is there to show you have done it more often than not.
Brian - I had 30'000 cumulative hits on my columns in January. I'm in e-mail contact with about twenty people working for US operators or retail stores from New York to Florida to Texas to California. If 15 out of 20 of these sources tell me that leading US operators are backing away from Qualcomm phones as fast as they can it doesn't take a rocket scientist to draw some conclusions.
Why don't you just call and send e-mail to a couple of retail stores in different states and ask how Q-phone is selling? This is a model that debuted just a few months ago. You are going to hear some pretty colorful language - I have picked up several new colloquialisms. I'm especially impressed by those idiosyncratic Cajun curses - too bad I can't work them into columns since the websites are family-oriented.
While you're at it, ask about Motorola's CDMA Startac as well - it's demolishing the competition among high-end CDMA handsets. So much for the headstart Sony, Samsung and Qualcomm had in the CDMA phone market. As soon as Motorola and Nokia enter with full force the US operators throw their full weight behind them. The consumer awareness of Startac and 61xx series is through the roof.
First of all, does that 30,000 hits showed that you are more informed than me? Therefore, you are telling the truth? I am totally ill-informed? A non-rocket sicentist will take your 15 out of 20 stores sample as indication of Q's CDMA phones are not popular any more? How did you know that I did not call or personally visit varioue stores to verify CDMA phone sales? In what capacity you are saying you are more informed than me? Just because you received more emails and internet hits?
Just on what basis do you think "the consumer awareness of Startac and 61xx series is through the roof." From those 15 stores out of 20 and from California to New York? Yes, you are making a predication! If you are right then you get all the credits. How about if you are wrong? What do you do? Try to go other web sites to promote youself?
Tell me before Iridium's business plan go sour. Did you make any predication on that to happen? Yet, you were the first one to analyze its death as soon as Iridium showed problems. Make me a prediction if G* is going to be successful or not. Do not wait until it go commercial. I put my money in it. Do you want to bet against it while you still have a chance? If you predict Q*'s CDMA was not going to be successful, did you ever put a short oder in it?
Also, you also know so much about Sino-US politics and relationships. therefore you can write telcomm. comments on it? Boy! do I feel small and ill-informed than a Finn about Sino-US relationship and telcomm. stuffs. I travelled to that place and USA, I do not even see anything as you described besides Nokia share price is going up like crazy. Yes, you also take credit for that. Right?
MOT is another good example. Just in what capacity does MOT's share price has anything to do with your prediction of its improvement on phones sales or designs? You just liked to take credits on that. You did not write to MOT's SI board the time frame it would improve at that time, did you?
Tero, Self promotion is easy. Accusing of other people of personal attacks is easy too. Why do I have to follow the rule of yours while you defame my beloved company, especially I have my money in it? If you know how to write a balance report. Show me. I do not have any problem to praise you if you do it the right way.
Otherwise, you do not take responsibility of your writing and you are still "boasting all the time".
