mohan...re: rotten apples and e-machines.. thanks the two articles from ibd..now i don't have to walk outside and pick the paper off my lawn... one day inventory...why didn't analyst and journalists immediately pick this up, due to distribution sales method....one day in this instance is a negative.. cheap pcs..in the hands of those whose vcr's constantly blink 12:00..will end up in the trash.. just as i stated about "third world" mentality as in the "floundering founder"..it also applies to a "low socioeconomic" mentality...most analysts, pundits, and even posters on this thread are so egocentric that they believe everyone are as they...this "attitude" is tremendously off the mark...consider this dynamic... "third world, lower socio economic markets are first offered the "volks" product..a natural progression from what they have been without...but at some point the "volks" desires to seperate them selves from the masses of "volks" to claim an identity...and how do they achieve this..by not wearing generic sneakers...but air jordans...not having an old atari..but a sega play station..no hyundai but a lexus..no free cell phone but a digital qualcomm...HUMAN NATURE, STATUS THE DESIRE TO HAVE SOMETHING WITH A BRAND NAME THAT WILL CAUSE THE OTHER VOLKS TO BE ENVIOUS....FOR WHEN YOU LACK WEALTH YOU ACHIEVE DIGNITY THROUGH STATUS.... and wise marketing people know this..the wealthy look for bargains..the less fortunate look for status.. just a thought..ed a.
