Schwab charges for each trade.
When I've gone over my margin allotment, I've gotten a polite phone call on each occasion, with one major exception. That exception really hurt, big-time. Checks were returned unpaid and I was treated rudely. This was during the same period where Charles Baby and Pottruck were making appearances on CNBC and, IMO, misrepresenting - outright - their on-line trading system and capacities.
I called Schwab Corporate and was again treated rudely. My Schwab Platinum Signature card says "Client since 1983". You'd think that Pottruck could show foresight and learn from dedicated customers that wanted to give constructive feedback. It appears to take confrontation to dent him, however.
In any event, things are much improved. The website is rarely down, and, while pages still load in a laborious fashion, capacities are up, IMO.
Foresight, foresight, foresight.... they didn't have it, but they now seem to be scrambling effectively. |
