Men treat some women as disposable, as a receptacle, to be used and tossed away. No woman wants to be that. Women long for permanent, devoted relationships, and some (me, for example) may, from time to time want more than one permanent, devoted relationship at the same time, if the first one is imperfect. If a man gives a woman that devotion, he gives her dominion over his heart. I think that's it.
Which means that she can hurt him, because she matters to him. Which is frightening. But without it, love is impossible. |
