More Research Notes: Gilder Article Mentioning WAVX...

Here's some vintage Gilder from 4/6/98 Forbes ASAP. The article is entitled Life Span vs. Life Spam. It does have a specific, though brief, reference to WAVX. A reference which is somewhat reminiscent, by the way, of some stories that HWP is weaving in its new ad campaign.

The article hits on many themes. There is the issue of attention scarcity, something that Michael Goldhaber dubbed, "The Attention Economy" back in a wonderful series of articles in Wired/1996. There is the whole topic which Gilder made his own very early: customer supremacy in the age of the Web. Using the Web, individual customers, like you and I Magee, now have a power that would have once been reserved for entire corporate procurement departments. (Incidentally, ITWO calls this theme, "The Customer Century.")

In any case, the article is a wonderful read for a late Saturday afternoon.
