2 more cents, I have a Micron Trek and have no complaints with the product. I love the screen. Easy on the eyes after 10 hours a day. I assume there are not many internal laptop upgrades, so I'd get all the memory\processor you want at the get go. I use an external mouse, as the touchpad is somewhat awkward to use. So, for traveling I'd suggest maybe a track ball of some sort. I do know the magazine "pccomputing" has laptop torture tests every so often. They drop 'em, freeze 'em, spill coffee on 'em, and etc.........I'm sure you'd be able to find these results on their site. As for the detachable monitor, I'm haven't seen anything. Good luck! I've just started following this thread and have been trying to wade through the posts. I'm starting out on the multi-monitor learning curve. Would you or anyone else drop me a description of your dreamer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM Ok Thanks! Dan
