Since those who go through the process of getting a legal opinion letter from an attorney, finding copies of 15c2-11's, signing letters, and filling out forms, it is safe to assume that most sell. But to get confirmation on this is against the right to privacy laws in the USA. It is not legal to furnish what brokerage firm sold stock that you see a trade on the tape. And if you can assume what brokerage firm did it, it is not legal to get the information on the name of the client.
