Nuke,
We gave these people the option of ceding a territory to their enemies, either peacefully or by force. Some option. Then we looked for an excuse to start lobbing bombs, and we got it in the form of a statement from Mad Albright that the KLA had "chosen the path of peace". I think I'm going to puke.
Then we started the bombing the Serbs, and effectively left them with two options: either clear the Albanians out of Kosovo, or cede the ground to Albania and the KLA as a base of operations, with NATO as their Air Force. This is the outcome of our diplomacy?
>Let's see, mmmmmm, if I had to choose, which would I prefer? To be mocked or to get the shit bombed out of me? Gosh I can't decide.<
Okay, they chose to get the shit bombed out of them. Do you feel any better now? This is not just a rhetorical question. I don't think our security and our interests have been served one bit by this fiasco. Quite the contrary. We've set forces and events into motion that are well beyond our control. Nothing good will come of this.
