I have an appointment at LCA-Vision next week for a screening, and got the brochure today.
Great marketing, but rather misleading.
The part about all the money you'll save by spending $4500 on LASIK instead of keeping your glasses is way off, in my opinion.
It says 15 years of wearing eyeglasses can cost $6290. In the past 15 years, I think I've spent 15% of that. New lenses and frames every 5 years, with exam, for total cost of maybe $300 each time. Of course, I hit the local school of optometry at the nearby university, so it's a little cheaper.
But what does LCA-Vision think most people do? Buy designer frames every year?
It's actually FAR more lucrative to skip LVC, and invest the money in an LVC stock (a while back). |
