OT-Foreign Affairs Quarterly Winter issue, I believe, has a compelling article on the graying of the world's population, something brought to mind by perusing the statistics in the link. Japan, Europe (Italy, France, Germany, UK), US, in that order, will arrive or have arrived at zero or negative population growth, with developing world staying well in positive growth. Medicare to accelerate its posture as a very significant funding/social issue because of the inversion of the population triangle--working age to those aged whose programs are supported by "working class".
