I find your ideas very interesting and refreshing. Ken's way of trading is, imho, much more speculative and risky and, therefore, probably much more profitable for the percentage of traders who are successful at it. I think your approach is more conservative and, by definition, somewhat less profitable, but profitable nonetheless. Less profitable (maybe), but more probable. So, your approach would be on the food-chain somewhere between buy & hold and Ken's method. Maybe you could call it buy & hold and/or trade. :-}

I think most of us would agree, though, with what I believe is your main point that trading "quality" stocks rather than crap can reduce risk over time.
