Hi, Cameron -

>>My concern, though, is that if SyQuest, which used to dominate the removable storage market, is able to significantly and repeatedly one-up Iomega on technology issues at reasonable price points, then the tables might be turned once again.<<

Certainly a valid concern. SyJet appears to beat the Jaz on most counts, from a technical standpoint. The announced Rocket drives are so much higher-end that they would begin to create a whole market segment of their own.

The big questions:

1- Can Syquest stay in business long enough to deliver them?

2- Can Syquest figure out and implement an effective marketing strategy?

3- What will Iomega do in the meantime?

I must say, it's nice to see Syquest showing signs of life, though. At these prices, it's a nominal amount to risk for a thousand shares or so. Could be a nice upside on it.

If they don't fold within the year.
