Rashid, if NT is slower and a memory hog, why would anyone
want to buy it? I understand it does not run 16 bit apps
(or DOS programs for that matter). Hence, users will have
to upgrade to 32-bit versions of all their programs. Many
such programs are probably not available yet. Therefore, I
do not see NT becoming the desktop standard any time soon.
Its main use will continue to be limited to servers. And
there will not be as many servers sold to generate a huge
demand for memory.
