Opal April, it seems some, think you and I, would divert XOMA employees from there real task and have them spend an inordinate amount of time handholding and communicating with shareholders. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I understand, how much time and effort goes into or should go into the presentations at events or even the conference call. The point is that once that effort has been judged worthy of resource utilization, then there is only a marginal cost to sharing part of what was said with shareholders.
I am quite forgiving,. I can imagine that on the hu1124 issue it had been decided to do a joint conference call with GNE, on the day of Castello's presentation at the Bio Century Conference. It takes time to set up such a call, promote it and prepare with the lawyers, GNE and roles of each speaker. Then, perhaps, GNE jumped the gun in mentioning P III in its' earnings report. My complaint is not that XOMA intended to hold up the announcement for a few days but rather that when GNE announced an agreement on P III, that XOMA insisted there were details yet to be resolved. I called GNE and I really doubt there was anything unresolved. XOMA IMO should have just said yes, GNE is right they announced earlier than expected as a joint conference call on the 15 th. had been planned. This would have ended the issue. Instead once again confidence in what XOMA says has been eroded. |
