Briand, I have never been a LU basher, although I have been accused of it. However, I own CSCO, and do not own LU, or any of the other players in this field. Why?

First, portfolio allocation. I want to own the "Gorillas" that are on their way up, so I own CSCO, QCOM, and MSFT. I own AOL, a King, because I got in small to test it, and don't leave a big winner until it falters, although this one is really a speculation, in my mind.

If you want a "basket" in telecommunications, you would certainly hold both LU and CSCO, among others.

The reason you see defense of CSCO on this tread against LU and others is a reaction to the constant posts by CSCO haters on this thread. We have the same problem on the MSFT thread. I am not talking about bears who want to bring up problems, but our resident Cisco hater, of course, who has ruined this thread, and some LU owners who just can't handle the fact that CSCO, within is core business, is the rule maker, and will be almost impossible to knock off.

You don't see the people who own CSCO going over to the LU thread and knocking LU, but it sure happens the other way!
