Josef, admiring your refinement of the use of the profits and the basis to what I've been doing with them (basis out at earliest opportunity because it may be the only opportunity, put basis into another stock with more momentum potential, some profits put back into netstocks, then the rest into: treats for family and/or the bank OR non-net no-touch div. yielding split history longholds OR into the blind account for taxes). Been jumping all over the place (yeah thats me in the traffic that Jed was talking about, I think LOL) and have luckily gotten somewhere with it so far, but sheer luck never holds and a disciplined strategy is what lasts. Moving money around from one investment to another to grow the shares - when one is a 909 another one is on a dip - is usually good but not at times of a major market move and it's put a freeze on me before at those times which were frustrating and scary for however briefly. Looks like high time to stop doing that and keep the basis powder aside in cash for dips instead just in case. Your way of climbing up and down Winners on the ladder of dips and pops with cash from basis and adding to the long shares with the profits is a more organized and better way than what I've been doing...just recently started doing something Of Course More Disorganized but similar actually but only with AOL, GNET, & lately CMGI & MSGI. Been noticing it works better because it keeps the target steadier instead of jumping around all over needing to time the sells along with the buys. When I say Luck I mean Ladyluck's been on my shoulder, lucky to Be Able To time the sells of 909s to get more of another Big On The Way Back Up...but it's gone so well that lately I've been thinking "Wonder When This Number Will Be Up"? So now the smartest thing for me would be to stop doing the same thing, a bit before the time Ladyluck flies away from the successful pattern. I keep hearing the theme "The Tighten Up" by Archie Bell as I draw these here beads on the printout. Thanks for sharing The Discipline, Josef, and all on this magic Techride Board for in ways you didn't realize sending signals to me on here that "The Number Is About To Be Up" as Josef simultaneously gives me the next refinement of strategy, so nice when it's the EASY.wav Way like this. Well, so I'm just an ole copycat, and unabashedly unashamed of it too. '99er 909 Nuggets 2U, Joan |
