You know I am continually reminded of the old proverb "If it were easy somebody else would have done it already" De Beers has been running that cartel for almost a hundred years already and for a good part of that time Governments and others have been trying to A.) trip them up and B) Horn in. And all of that with little success. Don't think for a minute that the Gov't of SAf or the management of SUF are going to quickly achieve what many others have tried to do. I'm not saying that it is impossible, only that it won't be either quick or painless, and the pain can run up to years and years of Chaotic diamond prices if the going gets rough.

The hoard, which is now understood to be outside SAf is GINORMOUS, and the knowledge and experience behind it's control are enormous, and very well organized, and IMHO totally ruthless.

Just my two bits worth.
