My Lord Smooth:

I could not disagree with you more. The brand manufacturers will be forced to sell a great deal of machines for under $500, or even for free. They will make their money -or die- on their ability to become ISP's in their own right. To assume all of the "component" suppliers in the food chain -with no direct access to end users- will go along with the "for free" model is completely ludicrous.

If Phoenix went out of business the dispersal of the BIOS engineers of the world would prove a disaster for the industry and consumers.

Your Obedient Servant,

Rober Alan

P.S. With operating margins at about 15%, I think they have turned the corner.
