Thats true Gary, but again, I do not feel that DD on non-reporting stocks amounts to squat. It is nothing more than lip service from the company, or whatever they want you to think about them.

In my opinion, you cannot look at OTC stocks as investments, nor can you look at SI as an investment tool. This is not investing. To me, investing is when I buy a stock based on verified DD, (verification meaning more than a phone call to the company's IR, who wants me to buy the stock and naturally will make the company sound great), checking on the performance every now and then, and then forgetting about it and going on with my life.
If it doesn't perform to my expectations, I dump it. If it does, I may take my profit and may even buy more. I have to weigh out the maximum return for my dollar against the amount of time and grief and hassle I want to put into it.

Sometimes people do want to take the lazy way out, and not do the research themselves. However, there are others (like me) who feel that DD isn't worth the paper its written on, and spending a lot of time accumulating it isn't all that great either. It's not that I don't know how to DD, and you know that. It is simply that I choose not to because the vast majority of the DD I have ever obtained has turned out to be less than authentic anyway.

So, how does one who either can't or won't do DD make it here? And where does SI fit in the process? Well, when I find a stock, I look at the basic info for about 10 minutes, then I look at the thread. I look for certain names.

If I see that James Bender or Alan Markoff, or TokyoMex have ever made a post on the stock, I don't buy it. That simple. There are a few other names I avoid like the plague too, and that list is ever growing. That was the intent of this thread. If you KNOW not to buy something because there is someone pumping it, I not only want to know which stock, but I also want to know who the person is, so that I can avoid ALL of their "picks". (Got to love the term "pick"....reminds me of "Pick-Pocket.")

Have a great day in Texas. It is my 12th wedding anniversary and I am being spoiled today, despite the unseasonally cold weather.

:-)
