You are right that people shouldn't follow gurus, but the reality is that many do.

Most people do not naturally have the investment savy of Warren Buffett, and most do not obtain it by osmosis, so whether its Buffett, Wade Cook, or the advice your own Father or Grandfather, you are probably influenced to some degree by others, at least somewhere along the way.

To say that they get what they deserve is a little harsh, because, in my opinion, what these guru people are doing is criminal, and no one deserves to be a victim.
