taxman: You beat me to it by a few minutes. This shouldn't be a big surprise. Can you imagine that they either didn't know or thought the street wouldn't see a 50% shortfall. Looks like this was a very decisive act on the part of the board. CPQ has been all over the lot as far as their distribution model is concerned. This might indicate that the PC business is doing fine and CPQ's problems are specific. If the Street reads it like I do and MSFT has good earnings the tech sector should get a lift. JFD
