Traditional banks are their own barriers to entry due to its already established brick and mortar model. A traditional back would be nuts to close everything down and go online, the only alternative is to offer its existing customers online service less the competitive rates. Their hands are tide...I must give credit to EGGS for executing the transition from B&M to a pure net model though they still are not profitable. NTBK is the leader, the pioneer of the sector. I would not speculate on any other internet banks until they have proven their growth via NTBK's..
