Absolutely correct, Jason.

The traditional banks just aren't going to be able to compete effectively on the net. They have chosen M&A as their vehicle for cost cutting. The sad part is that the bigger they get the more lousy their customer service is getting.

Decreasing customer service will make them even more vulnerable to internet banks. Improved customer service is an often overlooked benefit of internet banking.

Netbank has considerable potential for improved customer service but the technology is available and once the envelope is pushed to the limit and the customer gets hooked on it there will be no going back. It's like going from snail mail to email. I can't remember the last time I snail mailed a family member.
