Thoughts on O'Hare . . .

If the project integrator has handed out 250 videos, you have to believe that things have gone well with the pilot. They have to have a good story in order to market it elsewhere. This is some concrete evidence to back up rumors that the pilot was working.

Cargo theft costs US forwarders, etc., an estimated $3 billion per year. There are 452 major US airports. The bill to put the FAA trust fund off-budget is going forward. We have an interest in it passing. Until it passes with good funding, we probably have nothing. IDX stock should go up the day after it becomes law.

Given the lead time on federal funding and the still-early pilot stage (one airport only), we shouldn't expect money to flow for a year. Leading to my next point . . .

Expect a strongly rising top line from here on out with the IDT purchase. Profits may lag as IDX invests in costs of production. However, I think we are starting to see institutional recognition of what is becoming inevitable -- market acceptance of mass biometric applications.

The year 2001 could be a blowout on several fronts: The FAA project (assuming favorable legislation), IDT sales through computer and keyboard OEMs, and (we can hope) a massive $1.5B Mastercard deal.

PS and Off-topic -- Brad, for the first time in over two years I went golfing. Maybe you can explain how the wind can be in your face for nine straight holes. And I have a new personal motto: "Now chipping for par . . . ."
