HI Everyone... There was an article in today's business section of the San Francisco Examiner about the Canadian Minister for International Trade, Sergio Marchi.....which I will quote, in part..

"Canada's Minister for international trade, Sergio Marchi swept through the Bay Area last week, leading 60 Canadian business people - most of them young, all of them high-tech - on a trade mission.

Their goal: securing investment and partnerships between entrepeneurs north of the border and their conunterparts in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. "

Marchi said "... we are concentrating on Internet-based companies, computer animation and environmental technologies".

OPINION:
This certainly looks good for Canadian companies because there are lots of venture capital companies in this area and they could provide the start up capital that is lacking or withheld in Canada. With BII doing so well it could show that Canadian companies (other than natural resources) can compete on the international market and therefore open the door for greater capital investment into the tech sector.
