I am not, solely because if I did somebody would surely come up with a case that did not fit. My first comment was simply a statement of the definition of rape as I understand it. I do not know enough about the subject to expand any absolute statement to include a summary of the necessary components of rape.
There are so many possible variations, and none of them are pleasant to contemplate. If a psychopath experiences arousal and ejaculation in the course of stabbing or strangling a victim, is that rape? No, unless sex organs are involved. If a would-be rapist can't achieve erection, and uses an object instead, is that rape? Yes. This is not some absolute declaration, simply a function of the way I define the word.
I would submit that rape may simply be assault on the sexual apparatus of another, and that in such cases no sexual emotion may be present for either party. There are other cases that are different. The variations are, if not infinite, infinitely disgusting, and I'm sure we can think of something else to talk about. |
