I understood the comment regarding "the guys at the helm only have 3/4 of their heart in this business" to be referring specificaly to e.p. who is well into his 50s and has been with cpq since the 80s. As for Rose, I know nothing about him and will therefore assume he/she is an up and coming key player (if not already). The bottomline is the buck stops with e.p. and he has taken the fall accordingly.
