Baldwin -
Rod, Stimac and the rest of the original heavy hitters are way wrong for the job - They have been into being retired elder statesmen and have shown little interest in staying in the game. Besides those guys are more than 10 years older than Jobs. Jobs was always into some crazy high-tech venture, most of which I thought were ill advised. But recently he seems to have grown up a little and both Pixar and his recent work at Apple are pretty good. But Apple is still a one-trick pony and on the ropes. CPQ is the #1 PC vendor and the #2 computer vendor, and the challenges are much more complex. Rod was over his head when CPQ was $2B, how could he be expected to run it now? Not only that it would cut into his hunting time.
