Dell's vision is to take the R&D investment incurred by msft and intc and produce it in the most profitable manner utilizing supply chain management and other innovative software manufacturing techniques. The intent is to minimize R&D in the core product (push it off to msft and intc) and shift those costs to the supply chain where the value proposition lies for Dell. I really think thats it, its pretty clear and while not revolutionary its still pretty effective wouldn't you agree?
