Sorry I've been long in replying. Clinical trials are always complicated. Interestingly, one factor which attracted me to IMUL is that their trials would be simpler than say those for a usually fatal condition such as HIV. I have to believe that the company believes that the treatment works since they are developing compounds for other allergies. I think your first scenario is the likely worst case. It does surprise me that the test subjects are allowed to take symptomatic treatment during the trials.
