There will be up hyping by people long and down hyping by people short.

Global can be compared to Ballard in that companies that make fuel cells have large market caps. (Larger than Global has now.) They are not direct competitors, though.

I got into Global a year ago when they announced a break through at lab scales. This new cell is a full size production prototype (something they plan to build). It is very real.

Global's cells have a definite advantage in remote applications and military applications where it is important that you can use dirty fuel and that maintenance is low. They have an existing customer base to sell them into and are definitely gearing up for production.

Ballard has a huge advantage in automotive, if for no other reason then they are partially owned by auto companies.

My thought is that the two Canadian companies probably have some synergies and could work well together.
