"There appears to be some confusion on this board and perhaps among bulls that MSFT has come to VDAT. I think the fact is that VDAT is putting its content into MSFT format. That's quite a different situation than MSFT coming to VDAT."
======================================================================
Let me add one other possible affiliation developing into a strategic relationship. The ITVU VDAT DNET. By pooling their assets they would control not only the only currently available distribution network for management and distribution of vod and live video over the web but also be able to provide the production services to advertisers and content media like publishers. Combine that with the MSFT new plug and play and they are ready to go nationwide.

"I have traded VDAT with some success, but with the appearance of shorts, and no institutional longs - as far as I can tell - IMO upside is now limited."
I suspect some of the short position has been built to lock in profits for those with large positions. I would not like to have been one of those shorts the last 2 months.

"To my knowledge VDAT is the only dedicated producer of video for the
net."

MDLK provides streaming video for BCST, but they have acknowledged that their revenues from the relationship are still small. That's not to say that YHOO will necessarily continue the relationship.

My point was not that VDAT was the only producer of video used on the net but that it was the only one to my knowledged that produced video exclusively for the net [unlike MDLK which is a multimedia company] ie VDAT has a worldwide team of production crews for this purpose not for tv or other media unlike MDLK. There are numerous multimedia companies that have production capabilities that can be translated into a digital format. VDATs initiative is to produce content for themselves and increase content exposure by co-publishing on other
high-profile sites.

"I don't know of any fraud by VDAT, as has been alleged here, but IMO,
VDAT will at least have to undergo a period of consolidation before any more runup is seen."

What fraud? The stock price for VDAT has runnup quickly. The marketcap of the company given its assets vision leadership and affiliations is hard to put a figure on. I think the profit taking will stop the once we get a major news release re. affiliation/equity stake by a partner. The stock may be higher or lower then but will move quickly given tiny float and growing pr effort by the Co. to get the story told.[see recent news re pr firm]
I have taken the liberty to post url for ITVU and MSFT.
