Share the work...
Perhaps I should find some people on the same wavelength and share the work. With that in mind, here is my two cents. The VoIP market in general has stalled due to several factors, many of which were self imposed. The early players like IDTC, VOCLF, OZEMY, and NSPK saw explosive growth beginning early 1998, as they introduce their plans to provide a low cost long distance alternative. By June of that year, the market reached its peak as companies like IDTC with there Net2Phone "gadget" seemed to finally offer a low-cost alternative to long distance. These and other companies were generating some unwanted attention from traditional long distance companies like AT&T Sprint, and MCI. Fearing the impending doom, these carriers launched what is known as "dime a minute" rates. This combined with other technical issues, that I will not go into, effectively brought the industry to its knees.
VoIP needs a few more years to mature.
