Mark - Just an annecdotal experience from today to go long with your comment -

<<Digital photo related and scanning related activities are going to be huge. We will be doing our own photo finishing and storage>>

Take it FWIW . . . Huge rip snorter of a storm on the moutain today - pulled into a sheltered area in the big trees to hunker down, have some lunch, and enjoy the fury of nature. A friend whose family recently bought a small lodge/resort in the area followed my tracks in and hunkered down with me. What was on his mind? Not the snow, not the storm, not the powder stash we were both heading for, BUT . . . the topic was set when he asked, "What do you know about the internet and digital photography? We're thinking it could really help business if we . . ." And so on from there.

Less than an hour later another friend flags me down on a run and hollers, "Let's get out of the wind, I've got something I want to show you." Back into the big timber we go to get some shelter. He reaches into his parka and pulls out . . . a Gateway catalog! He wants to show me the new giga monster he just ordered so he can do what . . .? Digitize his extensive photo collection.

As I said, take it for what its worth. I'm not sure it means anything at all. But, when a guy can't even get down the mountain in a storm without people wanting to stop and talk about this stuff - it does make you wonder about what might be going on.
