Genesis RAID Manager Gives Users Total Control of Storage; Access Genesis From Anywhere Via the Internet With an Easy-to-Use, Java-Based GUI
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--MicroNet Technology, Inc., a leading innovator in storage solutions, today announces Genesis RAID Manager, a user-friendly GUI (graphical user interface) that allows remote administration of storage using a Java-enabled browser. With Genesis RAID Manager, users can access the RAID system from anywhere in the world via the Internet, or locally via ethernet, for set-up unit monitoring, failure notification and troubleshooting. Employing an easy-to-use GUI with point-and-click operations, training time for system management is cut to a minimum.
Genesis RAID Manager is a powerful remote and local management application, which allows the administrator complete access to all the features and functionality the product offers. Genesis RAID Manager will notify the system administrator of a drive or system failure via e-mail, pager or alarm. Events are described as they occur, in easy-to-understand language. The administrator can then access Genesis from any Java-enabled browser or operating system, eliminating the need for proprietary client software. The system is made secure with encrypted password protection, ensuring that only the designated administrator can access the Genesis system.
Genesis RAID Manager allows users to browse vital details about the Genesis system such as unit temperature, drive status, power supplies and fans, and view, create and modify RAID sets. Criteria such as user ID passwords, IP address, Genesis name, date and time formats are all easily configurable through the GUI. Additionally, Genesis RAID Manager allows administration of multiple RAID sets from a single window with no scrolling, to simplify storage management.
MicroNet's Genesis is an innovative, high-capacity RAID system, available with capacities ranging from 63GB to one terabyte. MicroNet pre-configures each Genesis system and offers a wide variety of systems to meet varying demands. Genesis ranges in price from $15,995 to $161,995 SRP, and is available now from qualified MicroNet resellers and VARs.
In related news, MicroNet's GenesisONE will be on display at Ampex Data Systems' booth no. L10634. Ampex Data Systems Corporation, another wholly-owned subsidiary of Ampex Corporation, is one of the world's leading providers of technologies for the acquisition, storage and processing of visual information. |
