SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--Internet software superstore Beyond.com(TM) (Nasdaq:BYND) has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (contract No. GS-35F-0287J) to offer all government agencies and employees software that can be downloaded directly from an online government store.
The contract runs through March 11, 2004. GSA estimates that the total government software licensing and management market is $650 million, or nearly one-quarter of its estimated $3 billion in annual sales through the GSA Information Technology Schedule.
Under terms of the contract, Beyond.com will offer immediate, secure digital delivery of leading software from publishers such as Symantec, Network Associates/McAfee, IBM/Lotus and Corel via a GSA-approved schedule. Through its online government software store beyond.com Beyond.com enables government agencies to streamline its process for procuring and purchasing software.
