With PC prices continually falling, one problem for ATI could be that CPQ, DELL, etc will put more and more pressure on suppliers for lower cost components. ATI may have to lower prices (and margins) to stay competitive. CPQ is certainly under a lot of pressure right now. I think that's part of the worry in the market, not so much that volumes will decline but that component pricing will stay very competitive. You hear more and more talk of PC's as commodities. That doesn't bode well for continued revenue growth unless companies like ATI can make it up on the volume side. Then looking at volume, people see "potential" competition from S3 etc. It starts to look like there could be trouble from both pricing and volume. I'm sure that's spooking some investors right now. The fears may not come true, but just thinking about how they "might" doesn't give people a reason to buy right now.
