Intel will report earnings in the middle of April and we can fully expect another 50% increase in earnings. These guys don't fool around and when they tell you things are on track 6 week away from the actual reporting date it's probably an indication they have the top estimates comfortably in the bag. The 35 micron Pentiums are selling like there is no tomorrow and now they are selling them in freaking pairs.

Nobody should be fazed by the competitions noise because that's all it is, noise. They may very well capture some of the low-end market but Intel is forging ahead to the next mind-boggling level of the saga of the Incredible Shrinking Die, namely, 25 microns for faster, cooler, denser and more powerful processors. Just one little problem for the competition: this is a whole new territory and and it's not hundreds of millions but freaking billions of dollars to enter this realm.

The idea that Intel is even going to have competition from a Cyrix or AMD at the server end of the market is laughable. Even Oracle's low end Network Computers are going with Intel and Intel is jumping on the Java bandwagon with both feet.
