Does anyone have any thoughts on the Limited fund or the new Strategic Small Cap?

I currently have a position in Growth and Limited. 1995 was good for Growth, but performance was disappointing in 1996 (and seems to continue). I have a lot of faith in Pilgrim but I wonder what happened. Forget about the lackluster return THIS year, everyone did well last year. Why didn't Growth? This one is supposed to shine during the Bull mkt. Don't give me that "the small and mid cap companies will rally soon" crap reason either. Not only does MY money go nowhere, I look bad b/c I recommended it to my brother last year.

As far as assets getting too big, I am not concerned. Although that's why I bought some Limited (and b/c of Ms. Baxter). Again, what happened to past performance 'SHOULD' be an OK predictor of future performance. Anyway I plan on hanging in there for a while - just needed to vent.

On another note, I was looking over the mgrs for Strat SmCap and they are impressive. Force led Tech/Comm to stellar returns and Haubold (sp?) had two 5-star funds previously at MAS (Small and Mid Value). I would think this would be a great team. Anyone else have any comments?

Good luck to all (we need it).

Ray
