on-topic: NTAP is noticeably absent from the slate of companies presenting at the H&Q tech conference next week. Anyone know why?

Thanks for the @Home tip. They seem a bit too second-tier for me (especially the Xcite alliance). And I really don't think access wiring is where the profits lie -- I think that as IP connectivity becomes ubiquitous and somewhat of a commodity, the AOL land is where profits lie. In the case of ubiquitous commodity technology (as net access will be in the future), it seems wiser to invest in services enabled by the technology rather than the technology itself. And AOL is a marketing/revenue machine, not an ISP. But that's just my gut feeling.

Hey ever notice that NTAP shares an office park with Lucent? Wonder what those lunch discussions are like? :-) (whoops just saw that you're not in Silly Valley so you may not have seen their offices)
