NBTel to Use iMagicTV's(NN affiliate) Software to Enable
Interactive TV

SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- iMagicTV announced today that NBTel will use iMagicTV's
DTV Manager software to extend their broadband multimedia services, including broadcast, to the television.

DTV Manager is an innovative business application software that enables NBTel, and other telecommunications companies,
to deliver premium interactive television and other interactive services to residential subscribers over existing copper
telephone lines, or any high-speed access.

''iMagicTV is excited to be working with NBTel as they launch their interactive TV service,'' said Marcel LeBrun, President
& Chief Executive Officer, iMagicTV. ''NBTel is clearly a next-generation telco with a solid strategy for deployment of
multiple services on a single broadband network.''

NBTel's customers will receive an interactive television service untouchable in today's marketplace. Digital television
channels and other multimedia services will be integrated with the high-speed Internet and email services currently available
on Vibe(TM), NBTel's extreme-speed Internet access. The service features will include 76 digital television channels, 30
audio channels, and local content.

''The iMagicTV product gives us the technology to deliver a complete multimedia service package to our customers,'' said
Joe Mosher, Manager, Market Development, NBTel.

NBTel, a world leader in information technology and telecommunications, was the first telco in Canada to be given CRTC
approval to provide television services to residential subscribers. The iMagicTV software has been in a technical trial in
NBTel's VideoActive(TM) Development Centre and 25 homes since October 1998.

LeBrun said, ''The power of DTV Manager is the scope of services a telco can provide with it. It will change the way
people are entertained, and informed.''

On the telco side, DTV Manager allows NBTel to leverage their existing networks and infrastructure and use leading edge
technologies such as IP Multicasting and MPEG to deliver multiple services on one appliance and one network.

''DTV Manager is helping us address the convergence of entertainment and information services, including broadcast on the
TV and PC,'' said Mosher.
