EXCERPT FROM BRIEFING:

Once a year, Hambrecht & Quist invites representatives from major technology companies to present their vision and strategy for the future. In the audience, by invitation only, are the principal money managers from major investment institutions throughout the world. For four days, these decision makers listen to the CEOs, CFOs, and CTOs from as many companies as they can. Major announcements are not uncommon.

This year's Conference is April 26 through 29, in San Francisco. With nearly 250 companies giving half-hour presentations the pace is fast and driven. Each company strives to present its future in the most positive light possible, and field tough questions. Professional money managers are looking for any new piece of information above what they already know.

Briefing will be covering the H&Q Technical Conference from the floor. In addition to posting breaking news as it is announced (look for postings on the In Play page or Story Stocks page), we will be gathering information for more in depth studies of individual companies and overall trends.

We would also like to hear from you. What firms on this list of companies would you most like to know more about? We will attend the presentations of the top five that get votes from you, our readers, and report back on their presentations. We will, of course, cover as many companies as we can, but we would like to hear what interests you. Send us an email and let us know what 5 companies interest you the most. Brevity is appreciated.
