I tried to learn to play golf, but I have a bad spot in my back from a car wreck, which almost never bothers me. Unfortunately, it is in exactly the place on the spine that needs to rotate when swinging a golf club (just below shoulder blades). Doesn't keep me from playing tennis or racquetball, it's just the bending over and twisting motion that gets me.

My younger son, Nicholas, aged eleven, wants to learn, we bought him a putter and a driver, and some balls, he likes to be taken to the driving range, and we promised he could go to golf camp this summer. My husband is half Scots-Irish, I tell him he should learn to play, but he says only if they'll let him wear his kilt.
