Every broker is different: I'm switching to Brown (if they will still have me after today...VVVBG) because they have 40% mainenance on AOL, which is not too bad as the usual is 30%. But Fidelity (my present broker) raised it to 60% and that is hurting me plus they raised DELL!!!!! to 40% and CMGI to 80%!!!!!!!! Ouch ouch and more ouch.
Your thinking is correct though this may force some people who dont want to, to sell.
